Biofeedback For Stress Relief

Meditation, breath control, and stress relief involve learning new skills that require practice to integrate into daily life.

*Reestablishing the mind/body connection can be greatly facilitated by modern Biofeedback technology

Biofeedback involves measuring a subject's bodily processes such as blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature, and muscle tension and conveying such information to him or her in real-time in order to raise his or her awareness and conscious control of the related physiological activities.

*By providing access to physiological information about which the user is generally unaware, biofeedback allows users to gain control over physical processes previously considered automatic.

These physical processes include breathing, managing and focussing the bodies energy, and controlling the activity of the mind. Biofeedback provides a way to practice the skills needed to learn how to meditate quickly and easily.

*I found the Healing Rhythms product a great vehicle for learning to focus, to direct my energy, and to practice the skills involved in living my life as a meditation.

It comes in two forms; Journey to the Wild Divine Adventure series and Healing Rhythms. The Wild Divine product is set up as a game arriving at the biofeedback exercises through game play. The Healing Rhythms product allows you to go directly to the excercises. I found the Wild Divine Journey very frustrating, probably because I didn't want to take a journey every time I wanted to work on one of the excercises, so I prefer Healing Rhythms. My friend, however, likes the game format so she uses the Wild Divine product.

The excercises allow the user to target specific skills involved in learning how to meditate so they can be utilized in everyday life. Check out the link above for more info. I've found myself using the skills that I practiced in Healing Rhythms in my life. The conscious practice of individual skills, particulary those related to breath control and energy focus, makes it easier for me to use these skills in my life and in my work. This revolutionary product provides a vehicle for personal growth that is interesting, productive and unique.

"There is a rhythm in the breath....and this rhythm is connected to the rhythm in the world, the ryhthm in nature, the rhythm in the body, the rhythm of one's thoughts and the rhythm of one's emotions."
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.
Buddha

"When sitting in meditation, it is important not to move. Relax as much as possible. Be at ease and free from tension, but at the same time be alert. Not moving is a metaphor for the enlightened state."
Andrew Cohen
